Buffalo Boss Babe: Katie Campofelice
When you meet Katie for the first time her joy radiates through the whole room. She seriously is a gem to everyone she meets. He laugh and smile will make your whole day. I have known Katie for a long time now, ( were talking high school days) and she has been like this for as long as I can remember. Watching her grow into the amazing women she has become has been so great! We chatted with Katie about, life, work, family and love.
What made you start or brought you where you are today ? Tell us your Story. What makes you a Buffalo Boss Babe?
I left Buffalo immediately following college and moved to New York City where I started my career in Real Estate Development. Through my own efforts and hard work over the next 8 years I found myself traveling the world, relocating to the Los Angeles, and managing real estate for billion dollar companies like WeWork and LinkedIn. I felt that I had reached my peak at age 28 but found myself incredibly unsatisfied. I always hoped of moving back to Buffalo and I thought what better time than now. I thought it would be great to bring my skills and knowledge back to the city of Buffalo . Since moving back home in the past year and a half I have been introduced to so many amazing women and have involved myself and lent my support and expertise to their incredible projects as well. I feel so personally connected with every project and idea I am currently working on and couldnβt be happier. Iβd really love to be a name associated with improving and growing the city of Buffalo.
What does being a Buffalo Boss Babe mean to you?
Being a bad ass woman who creates, develops and runs a local enterprise or idea that positively impacts our city and people. Being a woman is so amazing, we are incredibly powerful, intuitive, and intelligent. Itβs our ability to use those skills we have specifically as women to make changes and succeed in our communities.

Tell us about your favorite collaboration or dream collaborations ? *
My dear friend Jillian Czyz ( J Design and Styling) is a talented interior designer here in Buffalo and her and I have recently started working together on a few projects. What I lack she makes up for and vice versa. She has a creative perspective while I am super analytical. I have spent the last 8 years learning how commercial space works. How it operates, how it flows, and how it impacts the people who utilize it. What we really want to do is to design and develop space to be so much more than just visually appealing. A well designed space should be sustainable, should motivate those who are in it, and if its your business, every square foot should be designed to help you generate a profit. We are also brainstorming some ideas on doing some local art installation projects we hope to get going in this upcoming year.
If you could have coffee with anyone in the world who would it be? *
I would have to say my mother. She passed when I was 14 of cancer. She was such an incredible mom but because I lost her at such a young age I really didnβt get to know her as woman. As we get older our parents expose more of themselves to us and we get a chance to really see the type of person they are. I never got that opportunity with my mother. Iβd want to ask her about her goals and aspirations outside of raising a family, Iβd ask her for advice on being a wife and mom, Iβd want to know about how her life and everything in it that shaped her personality. There are endless questions. Iβd like to assume she would have been a Buffalo Boss Babe along the way too!
What are your hopes, dreams, goals. Big or small?
My goal for right now is to focus on marrying my fiancΓ© and soon to be family. My fiancΓ© is a father of two beautiful girls and I hope to focus more time on blending us all together, and creating a wonderful home. My hopes are that our city continues to grow in terms of real estate and development, small locally owned businesses, and culture and diversity. My dreams are that we as women in a Buffalo continue to push boundaries. There has been so much positive change for women in the workplace over these last few years, but there is still more to do. If we as women continue to support one another and lend our resources and knowledge our opportunities could be endless.
Tell us about your family?
My fiancΓ© is truely the love of my life and is as supportive as they come, and his two daughters are just too wonderful for words to describe. I feel super lucky and blessed that they let me into their family.
