Buffalo Boss Babe: Ashley Taylor
Today's Buffalo Boss Babe is Ashley Taylor of A Taylor Made Design. Ashley makes the snarkiest pet tags ever and WE LOVE THEM. Anyone with this much snarky creativity make me want to instantly be their friend. I don't know about you but I could pick probably 10 of those tags for my 14 year old grumpy grandpa beagle. Ashley is a creative soul that is helping fuel our creative community. We chatted with her about how she got started and so much more!
What made you start or brought you to where you are today? Tell us your story and what makes you a Buffalo Boss Babe.
I had been looking for the perfect dog tag for my fur babies, something that says a little bit about them, something with a little attitude. It also needed the option of putting my contact info on it in the event they got lost. I found some Pet ID Tags that came close and when I got them I inspected the product and decided that I wanted to try my hand at it, take it one step further and create a product that closely mirrored what I had been searching for. So after many attempts, finding the right material, digging deep for some salty tag lines, trying them out on my lovely friends and family, A Taylor Made Design was born. I sell mainly on Etsy, but this year my goal was to branch out to the Buffalo Community. Your pets have a personality, I’m just trying to let it shine while keeping your peace of mind! Plus, it’s the icing on the cake when you look at a dog’s tag and it says “Oh Shit…I’m Lost” or “I’m an Asshole and Ran Away”!
Who are your favorite people to follow?
My guilty pleasure is Tuna Melts My Heart – the content of Courtney’s IG account just makes me happy when I need a little pick me up. Another great IG I love is Joanna Gaines, seriously, the woman just has it all together.
What are your favorite things to do in the area (Buffalo and greater WNY)?
In one word: Food. I love eating, and Buffalo has the best food. I also love to check Step Out Buffalo for local events and things to do, it’s such a great way to explore your city!
Tell me about your favorite collaborations or a dream collaboration?
My dream collaboration would be to work with a high profile influencer, like Tuna, Harlow & Sage, or even Momma’s Gone City (Theo) and get together a bunch of makers of pet supplies to raise money for shelters, like a huge craft fair or fundraiser! There are so many deserving dogs that need homes, vet care, and just plain love, and so many shelters that are just doing their best.

If you could have coffee with anyone in the world who would it be?
I don’t know if I have any one person in specific I’d love to have coffee with, but I would love a group effort, local artisans, local makers, local boss babes and boss dudes just starting out and trying to create a name for themselves as well as making a difference in the community. I’d love to be able to pick their brains and brain storm on ways of helping each other lift off the ground floor. That’s essentially where I’m at now.
What are your hopes, dreams, goals? Big or Small.
Small goals are to be more integrated with the Buffalo Community, I have just started to dip my toes into the craft fair/fundraiser events, I’m starting to set my sights on local shops and I hope to one day be able to portion the proceeds of every sale to help local shelters! Big goals…I haven’t gotten that far yet, the small goals make up the big goal!
Feel Good Five
Color: Black….I know it seems dark and ominous, but it goes with everything!
Food: Food is my favorite food. I love trying everything and I do not discriminate!
Super Power: I wish I could clone myself or there needs to be more time in the day. Between my full time job, my hobby turned business, my own two dogs, staying heathy and exercising, a social life, and trying to get enough sleep, I need a second person!
Animal: Duh…a dog!
Season of the year: Summer! Patio drinks, kayaking at Canalside, taking my pups for walks, going to local events, what’s not to love!?
