What made you start or brought you where you are today ? Tell us your Story. What makes you a Buffalo Boss Babe?
I truly believe the universe put me where I was meant to be. Just like healing is not a linear process, it was not a straight path that led me to where I am today. After graduating high school I was uncertain of what my career path would be. I pursued an undergraduate degree in marketing, but never felt like it was the perfect fit. Natural health was always an area of interest for me, but for some reason I never thought of it as a potential career. I took a leap and continued on to earn my doctorate degree in chiropractic and an additional masters degree in acupuncture. In 2015, I joined a small wellness practice where I had the opportunity to take on an ownership role in 2021. Since then I have poured by heart and every ounce of energy into turning Seneca Springs Wellness into what I like to consider a "wellness collective." We have a group of amazing, passionate healers that work together to help patient's on their health and wellness journeys. We pride ourselves on providing a safe space for patients. We listen to concerns and go the extra mile to make sure patients feel heard, validated and giving them relief and hope of healing which many of them have lost along the way. Seneca Springs Wellness offers acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy, hypnosis, reflexology, aesthetic spa services and more.
Who are your favorite people to follow ?
My favorite people to follow are other healthcare practitioners, inspirational related content, local small businesses and of course cute dogs. @dr.avivaromm @acuproacademy @shawntassonemd are some of my nerd out favorites
What are your favorite things to do in the area ? Buffalo and greater WNY
I love nature and animals so my favorite things to do are definitely getting outside and enjoying the natural beauty of WNY. Knox farms and Forest lawn cemetery are a couple of my favorite places to explore. There are so many great local farms that offer unique experiences as well- you can probably find me taking a llama for a walk on a nature trail at Hemstreet llamas, reading some goats a christmas story at Rowandale farms or doing goat yoga! I find nature and animals are some of the best therapy.
Tell us about your favorite collaboration or dream collaborations ?
I have so many ideas about future collaborations! I enjoy doing "yoga puncture" events at various yoga studios in the area. These classes are a mix of yoga and an extended savasana with acupuncture at the end for relaxation. I find these collaborations are an amazing way to teach people about the benefits of acupuncture and allow them to experience what acupuncture is like without committing to full treatment. I have collaborated with Raw Renewal Yoga, The Heat Locker, Yoga with Jessie, Selenite and Sage, The Practice, Buff&Flo, Space on Seneca, etc. My most memorable collaborating was working with Space on Seneca doing yoga & acupuncture on one of the top floors of the Seneca One Tower, the view the city was absolutely amazing!
If you could have coffee with anyone in the world who would it be?
I would love to be able to sit and have a cup of coffee with my grandmother. I miss cooking with her and her stories. She was the strongest most selfless and caring person I ever met. I do not follow many celebrities and am terrible at pop culture.I always joke that I live under a rock. If you ask me about a music artist or actor/actress, there's a good chance I will have no idea who they are.
What are your hopes, dreams, goals. Big or small?
My hopes, dreams and goals are constantly evolving. I absolutely love my job and the fact that I get to help people everyday is such a rewarding feeling. Right now I am enjoying growing our wellness collective at Seneca Springs Wellness. We recently added "The Spa at Seneca Springs" which has been so great! I would love to participate in and host larger scale retreats and events someday, but I know when that time comes the opportunity will present itself. My retirement goal is to have a farm and animal sanctuary for all my rescues.
Tell us about your family?
Born and raised in WNY, my husband and I currently live in East Aurora, NY with our 3 rescues Maci, Charli Bananas and Laila Ali. I am living and loving the aunt life with 8 nieces and nephews to spoil. My family is the most important thing to me and have been the biggest supporters of all my endeavors.
