Buffalo Boss Babe: Marie Pazych
Today’s Buffalo Boss Babe is Marie Pazych owner of Business BEactive! Marie is a friend, business owner and contributor here at Buffalo Boss Babes. When she isn’t carting her adorable kiddos around she is freelancing her business or volunteering for her favorite organizations. She is also spearheading the first Buffalo Freelance Business Week. We chatted with Marie about business , life and buffalove.
What made you start or brought you where you are today ? Tell us your Story. What makes you a Buffalo Boss Babe?
I am a Buffalo Boss Babe because I am BUFFALO. Being adopted, I may not have been born in Buffalo, but I have been raised here since a very young age. I grew up near Ellicottville, went to college in Orchard Park and recently moved back to Hamburg after 5 years in Florida. Being away from Buffalo just wasn't my jam. I love everything about Buffalo - the people, the culture, the opportunities, and possibilities of our "friendliest city." BOSS BABE because I feel I'm a natural entrepreneur - I can't play by anyone else's rules but my own, I bite off more than I can chew, and I want to make a real difference in our community. That's why I'm a Buffalo Boss Babe.
What does being a Buffalo Boss Babe mean to you?
Being a Buffalo Boss Babe is an honor! We're a genuine group of like-minded women that support each other in our professions whether we work for a company, freelance, or own a company. It means that we put our business-hats aside, gather to learn from each other and empower another for a better Buffalo for us to be Bosses in.
Who are your favorite people to follow ?
I know it's terrible as a social media manager, I must follow influencers, right? But that's not the case. My favorite people to follow are my friends and family! That's what social media was created for in the first place.
What are your favorite things to do in the area ?
My favorite things have anything to do with BBQ, wine, beer, and being outside with my family and friends. There are so many hidden gems to visit in Buffalo and WNY i.e. Chestnut Ridge Park, Letchworth State Park, the Eternal Flame, Zoar Valley, Cattaraugus Creek, Sky High, Akron Falls.. I could go on forever!
Tell us about your favorite collaboration or dream collaborations ?
Right now, I'm collaborating with an organization out of Texas to better support freelancers in the Buffalo area. Being a freelancer, I feel there is so much potential to educate small businesses and current (or aspiring) freelancers to do more business in WNY. This is currently my biggest accomplishment yet and look forward to seeing what it leads to! I'm always open to collaboration NOT competition!
If you could have coffee with anyone in the world who would it be?
Cher! I love her and how she's pushed through MANY obstacles. I relate to her on many levels (even though she's Cher).
What are your hopes, dreams, goals. Big or small?
Hopes - To build a community in Buffalo that we all know exists and support one another to bring our city to its full potential. Dreams - Raise our two beautiful children to be amazing humans. Goals - Build a life full of happiness in our own right.
Tell us about your family?
I've been happily married for over 7 years. We have two beautiful children, Greyson and Evelyn, and a dog, Gordon (after Gordon Ramsay). My family is my WHY and they are extremely supportive of me and my drive to "get things done." Without them, I'd be more of a workaholic than I am now.
