Buffalo Boss Babe: Cheryl Erbacher
Today's Buffalo Boss Babe is Cheryl Erbacher of HEAL (health, energy, art, love) Bflo. HEAL BFLO is a grassroots company was inspired by our city, the community in which we live and the love the owners have for YOGA! We sat down to chat with Cheryl about health, energy, art, and love <3.
What made you start or brought you to where you are today? Tell us your story and what makes you a Buffalo Boss Babe.
I started HEAL Bflo with my business partner almost 5 years ago. The love for yoga and wanting to bring people together and share both the practice and mindfulness in a unique way was what motivated us to start. We began with the idea of putting together an all-day yoga festival and invite teachers from different yoga studios around Buffalo to teach it. We wanted to include local artist, musicians and any business that could help promote the benefits of yoga to everybody, both young and old. Having no money, no clue as to what we were doing we came up with HEAL Bflo. This past weekend we had our 5th HEAL Bflo yoga retreat/festival. We had 300 yogis, 68 vendors and 2,000 people walk through the doors of Hotel Henry to shop, listen to live music, practice yoga and eat and drink. . It was magical and as I walked through the event and the pure love, smiles and compassion that everyone there was radiating I knew that all the hard work was worth it.
Being a Buffalo Boss Babe is a humbling honor!!! Watching what women are doing in this community is so awesome that to even be put in the same category as the other Buffalo Boss Babes is so excitingβ¦ I canβt begin to thank you!!!
Who are your favorite people to follow?
I love to follow Mahinna, Vintage Chameleon, Fashion, yoga everything and pug everything!!!! I canβt forget Beyonce and James Taylor!
What are your favorite things to do in the Buffalo area?
I live in Allentown, so I am fortunate that we can walk or bike everywhere! I love to go to local restaurants⦠Café 59 is one of my favs! I also love to walk my 2 pugs all over! Bowling at Voelkers is a great date night with my hubby!
Tell me about your favorite collaborations or a dream collaboration?
One of my favorite events HEAL Bflo has done was to bring Arun Ghandi( Ghandiβs grandson) to Buffalo for a meet and greet. It was so amazing to hear him speak. My dream would be to get both Kirshna Das (musician) and Brene Brown to come to Buffalo!!!
If you could have coffee with anyone in the world who would it be?
I would have to say Brene Brown
What are your hopes, dreams, goals? Big or Small.
Becoming a yoga teacher has been a complete life changing shift for me. I teach classes all over Buffalo, from Buffalo State College, Bidwell Farmerβs Market (Saturdays all summer), to local gyms, restaurants and studios. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share my love for yoga with others. My hopes, dreams and goals are to continue on this path of teaching because I truly feel it is my dharma.
Tell us about your family a bit ?
I have 2 amazing boys. Matt Scheff who is 25, Aaron Scheff who is 22. Both living in Buffalo. My husband of almost 2 years, Joe Erbacher has been my rock for the last 8 years of my lifeβ¦. As well as his 4 children, Christina, Emily, Anthony and Dannyβ¦ which sorta gives us the Brady Bunch statusβ¦ plus 2 grandchildren, Soren and Oskar. Finally, our 4 legged babiesβ¦ Stella and Lewis our pugsβ¦ They always seem to remind us that the only that really matters in life is love (maybe food too).
